Job Description:
The repair Mechanic repairs, assembles and balances parts,
sub-assemblies of industrial centrifugesResponsibilities /
Tasks

Assembly and fitting of new and used centrifuge bowls
assemblies
Repairs, modifies and manufactures parts using hand tools or metal
working machines such as manual milling machines or drill presses
and fits them to the assembly.
Inspects assemblies or parts received for repair. Identifies
damages such as corrosion, erosion, fractures or mechanical damages
through visual examination. Measures critical fits and dimension
using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, gauges or
Coordinate Measuring Machines. Records inspection findings and
measurements in an inspection report.
Grinds parts to correct surface imperfections, remove burrs or
blend weld seams. Polishes parts used in critical pharmaceutical or
biotechnology processes to required surface finish per drawing.
Measures and documents surface finishes on parts.
Cleans parts in preparation for inspection
Inspects parts for safety relevant damages using the liquid
penetration test method
Balances completed bowl assemblies if necessary
Maintains a clean and organized work environment. Follows all
applicable QHSE rules and regulatory requirements
Fulfills additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Your Profile / Qualifications
Completed a 3-to-4-year formal apprenticeship as Industrial
Equipment Mechanic, Millwright or related field.
3-5-year work experience as Industrial Equipment Mechanic,
Millwright or related field, or experience in the repair and
maintenance of precision machinery, preferably high-speed
centrifuges
Experience in operating manual machine tools, such as milling or
drilling machines.
Experience working in the metric system, including use of metric
measuring tools and reading / understanding of metric drawings.
Experience in evaluating and identifying part failures such as
corrosion, erosion, cavitation or fatigue in stainless steel
parts.
Detail oriented, self-motivated, dependable and able to work with
little direction.
Adaptable to changing work demands and desire to learn new
skills.
Good social skills and able to work in a team
